The Commodores

The Commodores were formed at Towson High School in 1958 by Steve Gibb (guitar, '57), Ben Proctor (drums, '59), Chuck Schomann (bass, '60), Jamie Hess (piano), '59), and Al Rossi (sax, '58). It is said (in a totally unsubstantiated story) that the Admirals chose their name because an Admiral outranked a Commodore.
